Join the momentum. We are seeking a Manager for our growing Canadian Corporate Tax team. Providing the highest level of excellence, MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Our Tax team works with individuals and organizations in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors providing comprehensive strategies that minimize risk, meet tax compliance and reporting requirements, drive efficiencies and maximize returns. Specifically, our Canadian Corporate Tax team reviews and works with all facets of a company’s corporate structure, including executive remuneration and payroll taxes, to help clients meet all of their tax compliance and reporting requirements – both domestic and foreign – through a full range of Canadian corporate tax compliance services.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Performance Expectations

  • Assist in the overall management and growth of the Tax practice
  • Review domestic tax compliance and tax provisions
  • Research and document complex tax issues
  • Prepare correspondence related to tax compliance and tax consulting engagements; file objections or appeals
  • Identify and analyze client needs and identify innovative solutions or alternatives relating to tax consulting engagements
  • Solve client issues and introduce clients to new tax planning strategies
  • Implement tax planning strategies including engagement planning, collecting data, development of step plans and building direct client relationships
  • Instill enthusiasm and commitment in others to achieve desired results
  • Maintain and develop both existing and new client relationships, internal and external
  • Secure and manage the provision of tax consulting services and referral of MNP services
  • Active contributor and participant within the office and the region
  • Set the standards for, provide training and play a mentorship role to our team of emerging professionals
  • Attend, assist in leading or lead professional development training courses, seminars, workshops and meetings as needed
  • Participate in service line calls and meetings
  • Support the mission, vision, values and goals of the firm

Credentials

  • Possess a recognized Professional Accounting Designation
  • Completion of Level 1 and 2 of the In-Depth Tax Program
  • A minimum of three years’ post-designation experience within a tax practice, including preparation and/or review of domestic tax compliance (T1, T2, T3, T5013, and tax provisions) and implementation of basic tax reorganizations
  • Proven research skills utilizing tax and other industry-specific databases
  • Experience with private companies and owner-manager taxation in a public practice is considered an asset
