Join the momentum. We are seeking a Consultant for our growing Insolvency team. Committed to helping all stakeholders through financial challenges, MNP Limited is one of the largest insolvency practices in Canada. For more than 50 years, our experienced team of Government-Licensed Insolvency Trustees and advisors have been working collaboratively with lenders and debtors at all levels to help protect their interests.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Performance Expectations

  • Assist in the delivery of our consumer insolvency services and in planning the course of action to manage and resolve consumer debt
  • Meet with individuals and proprietors who are in financial difficulty; assess their situation and assist them in understanding options available to resolve their debt
  • Promote MNP insolvency services through presentations, networking, community and firm events
  • Administer formal consumer insolvency appointments including bankruptcies, consumer and Division I proposals
  • Oversee preparation and revision of documents and required filings
  • Review and verify accuracy of information received from debtors and creditors
  • Calculate and monitor surplus income requirements
  • Enter proofs of claim and monthly reporting from Bankrupts, receipts & disbursements
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  • Assist in developing and coaching other team members as required
  • Attend internal MNP and external courses as required to further develop knowledge and skills

Credentials

  • Completion of the Insolvency Administrator’s Course is preferred
  • Completion of the Insolvency Counsellor’s Qualification Course is preferred
  • Previous experience working in professional services, namely in the area of consumer insolvency or credit and debt counselling
  • Previous experience with Ascend insolvency software is considered an asset
  • Understanding of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA), equivalent work experience in the legal or financial industries or post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
  • Prior experience working in, or volunteering with, a social agency is an asset
  • Some travel may be required
