Join the momentum. We are seeking a Manager for our growing International Corporate Tax team.  Providing the highest level of excellence, MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Our Tax team works with individuals and organizations in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors providing comprehensive strategies that minimize risk, meet tax compliance and reporting requirements, drive efficiencies and maximize returns. Specifically, our International Corporate Tax team helps multinational businesses in Canada, the U.S. and other foreign jurisdictions address their cross-border needs and reduces tax exposure. 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Performance Expectations

  • Serve the Canadian tax compliance needs of multinational corporations, including managing complex tax return and tax provision engagements
  • Work closely with clients and members of the MNP team to provide tax advice to non-residents of Canada that are either carrying on business in Canada or planning to commence carrying on business in Canada
  • Work closely with members of the MNP team to provide tax advice to Canadian businesses expanding abroad, including acquisition structuring, financing transactions, corporate reorganizations, and planning for repatriation
  • Mentor and develop junior level staff to achieve their career goals
  • Actively participate in internal professional development events, such as preparing and facilitating technical learning and development sessions
  • Promote the MNP brand and support in the firm’s business development initiatives
  • Support the mission, vision, values and goals of the firm

Credentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with an emphasis on accounting or finance
  • An accounting designation in combination with completion of the In-Depth Tax Course, or completion of MTax degree
  • Minimum five years’ experience in public practice, with a minimum of three years’ experience specializing in Corporate Tax
  • Strong technical background in Canadian income tax, including experience with corporate tax return preparation and review, tax research, and drafting memoranda
  • Experience in international tax is an asset but not required
  • Experience with managing client relationships and engagements in a professional services environment
