Join the momentum. We are seeking a Manager for our growing Assurance and Accounting – Private Enterprise team. As an entrepreneurial firm built for entrepreneurs, MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm for private enterprise. Our team of trusted advisors develop customized strategies and programs to assist business owners in responding to emerging trends, anticipating risk effectively, improving performance and operating more efficiently so they can maximize operations and better grow their bottom line.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Performance Expectations

  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the Private Enterprise industry through interactions with clients, key agricultural leaders in the community and fellow colleagues
  • Apply knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE). International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) knowledge is consider an asset
  • Promote the Firm in the community through strategic involvement in external organizations, social events and agricultural based professional associations
  • Develop a referral base from effectively networking with contacts and other professionals and generate new contacts
  • Participate in strategically identified MNP business development events and develop the ability to engage target audience at these events
  • Effectively network to develop relationships with MNP experts in all service lines and niches
  • Develop skills in marketing MNP through presentations, speeches, conferences and company sponsored functions
  • Develop ability to ensure clients and targets have the information they need in order to make decisions and to accept additional services that add value
  • Work as part of a pursuit team in target pursuit activities for new clients
  • Develop ability to recognize and capitalize on opportunities to sell services
  • Develop ability to provide alternatives to client or target and effectively explain how each alternative can address their needs and how the engagement will be affected
  • Proactively seek and/or volunteer for additional assignments, responsibilities, etc.
  • Contribute ideas and solutions to assist with the development and/or implementation of change
  • Recognize different personality and communication styles and adjust approach accordingly
  • Develop effectiveness in identifying and resolving communication issues between others
  • Convey messages in a clear and concise manner to small and/or medium audiences
  • Develop ability to manage questions within a presentation to help audience clearly understand perspective
  • Manage team compliance with MNP values and code of conduct including confidentiality, integrity, honesty and ethical behaviour
  • Earn respect and trust from others by building relationships

  • Complete assigned engagements within budget/parameters
  • Delegate tasks for optimum engagement leverage
  • Issue invoices according to the billing policy
  • Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and engagement budgets in accordance with WIP policy
  • Effectively manage engagements to achieve target realization
  • Adhere to quality assurance and risk management practices when seeking improvements in engagements and/or methodologies
  • Respond to client requests, issues and concerns in a professional and timely manner, seeking guidance when necessary
  • Develop ability to understand unique features of clients’ business/industry
  • Maintain technical competence by continuing to participate in professional education programs and training sessions
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and application of MNP standards for engagement performance
  • Review others’ work for accuracy and completeness
  • Apply professional judgement when making non-routine decisions and seek guidance where appropriate

Credentials

  • Two (2) years of experience post CPA designation; preference will be given to those who have experience working in a public accounting services Firm
  • Previous accounting work with agricultural clients will be considered an asset
  • Some travel may be required
