Join the momentum. We are seeking a Manager, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) & Regulatory Compliance for our growing Forensics team. Protecting businesses’ best interests, MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Our recognized Forensics team combines accounting and investigative expertise to resolve fraud emergencies. Our professionals conduct assessments that gauge an organization’s vulnerability to fraud and help implement anti-fraud controls to reduce exposure to criminal and civil wrongdoing.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Performance Expectations

  • Responsible for the execution of AML engagements including the review of financial institution’s client processes and advising on solutions to create efficiencies and process improvement
  • Advise clients on a variety of regulatory advisory and AML services that help meet banking/credit union compliance requirements
  • Research emerging trends in regulatory guidance, AML and best practices
  • Critically analyze policies, procedures, people, processes and systems used by financial institutions to meet bank/credit union regulatory requirements and expectations
  • Manage project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)
  • Execute transactions through the provision of client services including planning, budgeting, scheduling and coordinating engagements
  • Perform needs assessments and lead the collection, development, research and analysis of data (through website research, report review, interviews, focus groups and surveys)
  • Facilitate collaboration with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas, materiality and deadlines
  • Think strategically about client needs by understanding their business and key risks
  • Identify ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added value
  • Maintain high quality control by reviewing work done from other team members for accuracy and completeness; provide feedback to team members
  • Monitor project timelines against targets, adjust where necessary; advise clients of project status and seek clarification on discrepancies where applicable
  • Leverage team appropriately to ensure proper documentation is prepared for the client and procedures relating to the file are followed accordingly
  • Promote MNP advisory services through the delivery of presentations, writing articles, facilitating workshops or participating in community activities
  • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industry
  • Raise awareness of MNP through discussions at community events including client and company sponsored functions
  • Network in the local business community and consider business development opportunities
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches in order to improve work processes
  • Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and addressing performance issues promptly
  • Promote regular attendance, balanced lifestyle and high standard of team wellness
  • Conduct formal, written annual performance reviews

Credentials

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in business or another related field; a Master’s degree in a related field would be considered an asset
  • Completion of the CAMS designation is preferred
  • Five (5) to twelve (12) years experience in advisory or consulting with a regulatory body or a financial institution is preferential
  • Extensive knowledge of anti-money laundering processes and reviews along with regulatory reporting and/or regulatory reporting software packages
  • Experience with the design, development and implementation of internal controls for financial services business processes
  • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Some travel may be required
