Join the momentum. We are seeking a Vice President (Manager) for our growing Corporate Finance team. Positioning our clients for success, MNP Corporate Finance is a leader in providing transaction advisory services throughout Canada. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Performance Expectations

  • Responsible for the execution of corporate finance engagements for clients including the research and identification of new markets or candidates and the process management from of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and/or initial public offerings (IPOs)
  • Lead the delivery of private placement and syndication of debt, private equity placement, advice to governments on privatization initiatives, and fairness opinions
  • Accountable business and market research, interpretation and analysis using mediums applicable to the client business such as Internet, industry and government written documentation, interviews with customers and competitors, and information gathered in site visits
  • Lead regular meetings with clients to review results and prepare business plans as well as attend meetings with brokers, bankers, investors and venture capitalists
  • Leverage technical expertise to guide clients on relevant parts of Corporate Finance such as divestitures, acquisitions, financing, due diligence and transaction advisory services
  • Facilitate collaboration with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas, materiality and deadlines
  • Manage project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)
  • Think strategically about client needs by understanding their business and key risks
  • Identify ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added value
  • Maintain high quality control by reviewing work done from other team members for accuracy and completeness; provide feedback to team members
  • Monitor project timelines against targets, adjust where necessary; advise clients of project status and seek clarification on discrepancies where applicable
  • Leverage team appropriately to ensure proper documentation is prepared for the client and procedures relating to the file are followed accordingly
  • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industry
  • Network and take a leadership role in the local professional, business, and community while raising awareness of MNP and looking for new business development opportunities
  • Promote MNP advisory services through the delivery of presentations, writing articles, facilitating workshops or participating in community activities
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  • Develop, coach, and train team members towards professional and personal development
  • Conduct formal, written annual performance reviews
  • Promote regular attendance, balanced lifestyle and high standard of team wellness
  • Attend internal MNP courses to further develop knowledge around performance improvement

Credentials

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in business with a specialization in accounting or finance; a Master’s Degree in a related field is considered an asset
  • Completion of the Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Completion of the Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations
  • Seven (7) to eight (8) years of experience at a professional services firm
  • Extensive knowledge of financial analysis and modeling
  • Experience in transaction advisory services sector assisting clients with due diligence services relating to merger, acquisition or capital raising efforts
  • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Some travel may be required
