Join the momentum. We are seeking a Senior Manager for our growing Enterprise Risk Management team. Protecting businesses’ best interests, MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Our recognized Enterprise Risk team helps identify, evaluate and manage risk exposure to protect a company’s reputation and assets.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Performance Expectations

  • Responsible for the delivery of Enterprise Risk Services such as risks assessments, internal audits, compliance programs, developing risk management policies and frameworks and assisting with risk mitigation strategies
  • Accountable for assessing business processes and internal control frameworks across a range of industries identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes and controls through the development of enterprise risk/operational risk management programs
  • Deliver industry and technical expertise in information security through client interactions, research and analysis, reports, technical work, management presentations, and proposals
  • Conduct Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) scoping and materiality calculations
  • Execute walkthroughs and control testing in support of ICFR/SOX engagements and recommend/ implement process improvements related to current processes and design of controls
  • Participate in the development and delivery of SOX audit training materials for clients and team
  • Determine internal audit scope, programs, criteria and procedures to fully execute internal audits
  • Obtain, analyse and evaluate audit documentation, previous reports, data and flowcharts
  • Conduct follow up audits to monitor management’s interventions
  • Document detailed process and control narratives, and prepare findings memorandum
  • Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards of various sectors
  • Manage project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)
  • Execute transactions through the provision of client services including planning, budgeting, scheduling and coordinating engagements
  • Facilitate collaboration with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas, materiality and deadlines
  • Identify ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added value
  • Maintain high quality control by reviewing work done from other team members for accuracy and completeness; provide feedback to team members
  • Monitor project timelines against targets, adjust where necessary; advise clients of project status
  • Leverage team appropriately to ensure proper documentation is prepared for the client and procedures relating to the file are followed accordingly
  • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industry
  • Raise awareness of MNP through discussions at community events including client and company sponsored functions
  • Network in the local business community and consider business development opportunities
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches in order to improve work processes
  • Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and addressing performance issues promptly
  • Promote regular attendance, balanced lifestyle and high standard of team wellness
  • Conduct formal, written annual performance reviews

Credentials

  • Possess a Master’s Degree in business (MBA) or a relevant risk management designation
  • Completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or a Certified Internal Audit (CIA) designation
  • Six (6) to nine (9) years of relevant work experience, most of which is in Internal Audit, regulatory compliance or Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR)
  • Extensive knowledge of leading Risk Management Frameworks such as COSO Integrated Enterprise Risk Management Framework and/or ISO 31000
  • Experience identifying and quantifying threats, risks and opportunities as well as interviewing clients and being able to understand and document risks, root causes, impacts, and mitigation
  • Experience in business and practice development
  • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Some travel may be required
