    Join the momentum. We are seeking a Database Developer to join our growing Technology team. MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Driving innovation throughout the firm, our Technology team provides industry-leading solutions that enable MNP to better serve our clients and people. We deliver on the strategic needs of service lines, industry and specialty groups, and operations at all levels throughout the firm. Our specialists develop, enable and support initiatives that allow MNP to deliver client service, collaborate, communicate and operate reliably and efficiently.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Performance Expectations

    • Install, monitor, maintain and performance tune databases, ensuring a high level of data availability
    • Database design and data modelling
    • Write complex stored procedures, triggers and scripts
    • Develop reports using SSRS, Excel, Power BI and Tableau
    • Data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
    • Supporting database management systems, online analytical processing cubes (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) frameworks
    • Performance monitoring and tuning
    • Translation of business needs to data requirements,
    • Provide ongoing database support for development team as required
    • Experience with Database Administration including performing backup and recovery, connectivity and security, software installation, configuration, patching and upgrades
    • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industry

    Credentials

    • Completion of a University Degree in Computer Science or related field
    • Three (3) or more years professional experience in database development
    • Experience with the administration of a multi-server Microsoft SQL Server environment
    • Experience with database design and data modelling
    • Experience writing and evaluating complex queries
    • Familiarity with reporting and BI technologies (SSRS, Excel, SSAS, Power BI and Tableau)
    • Experience with database performance tuning
    • Experience troubleshooting database problems in both production and non-production environments
    • Familiar within a Windows Server environment
    • Experience with clustering and Always On availability groups would be an asset
    • Familiarity with SharePoint 2013/2016 is an asset
