    Join the momentum. We are seeking an Analyst or Consultant for our growing Consulting Services team. Driving business excellence, MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Our Consulting team works with organizations in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors to provide innovative strategies tailored to maximize efficiencies, enhance performance and increase profitability. We have positions available in both Toronto and Thunder Bay.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Performance Expectations

    • Conduct fulsome due diligence reviews of applications for grant and loan funding including review of management, project, market, operational and financial aspects of the funding request
    • Review applicant’s business plans, legal documents, financial statements, financial forecast models, management resumes, market reports and transaction cost supporting documentations; 
    • Identify and document ownership structure of the applicant;
    • Carry out in-depth assessment of transaction structure and related costs;
    • Conduct a thorough review of the underlying technology presented in the business plan;
    • Develop an understanding of the key quantifiable operational performance indicators of the applicant’s business;
    • Conduct business and market research, interpretation and analysis applicable to clients’ businesses using mediums such as internet, industry and government written documentation, interviews with customers and competitors.
    • Keep abreast of market trends in order to assess current approaches and compare research results 
    • Prepare and review technical financial analysis such as projections, forecasts and/or models and carry out a deeper assessment of historical performance, working capital and capital expenditures. 
    • Assist with data gathering, analysis and writing of reports to summarize findings, identify risks and considerations for investment decisions
    • Assist with the development of qualitative and quantitative analysis resulting from information obtained through research
    • Analyze tangible economic benefits of investments
    • Produce, design and compile accurate, succinct reports and correspondence
    • Accountable for a highly developed level of customer service ensuring that customer needs and requests are responded to in a timely, accurate and professional manner
    • Develop positive working relationships with clients at the peer and management level

     

    Credentials

    • Completion of Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study
    • One to two years of experience in financial analysis, commercial lending, transactions, private equity, corporate finance and due diligence is preferred
    • Enrolment in the CPA stream or other accounting designation is considered an asset
    • Completion or in progress of a second designation (i.e. CBV, CFA, etc.) is considered an asset 
    • Experience in a professional services firm is an asset
    • Sectoral expertise in manufacturing, mining, farming, food processing, ICT, forestry, healthcare, aviation and tourism is preferred
    • Ability to communicate in French is considered an asset
