    Join the momentum. We are seeking a Regional Marketing Assistant for our Vancouver Island and Northern BC region. This position will be based in Nanaimo but occasional travel to other offices will be required. This posting is to fill an approximately one-year maternity leave position with the possibility of extending into a permanent role.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Performance Expectations

    • Assist the marketing team with the coordination, tactical execution, tracking and day-to-day administration of marketing strategies and initiatives that make up the annual marketing plans
    • Support the Regional Marketing Manager and the region in all areas of marketing including events, sponsorships, advertising, direct marketing, print materials, publicity, digital marketing, social media and business development programs
    • Perform administrative duties specific to the marketing department such as updating and maintaining databases, client lists and preparing materials for distribution to clients
    • Assist with the coordination of client, referral and community initiatives, as well as internal marketing-related projects and events
    • Produce and format documents such as proposals, presentations, project briefs, correspondence and reports
    • Assist with the development of annual marketing plans for the region (including gathering and compiling market research that supports the development of the plans)
    • Assist with tracking marketing expenditures and reporting on the performance of marketing activities and campaigns
    • Maintain marketing materials including brochures, promotional items and tradeshow equipment
    • Conduct other projects and ad-hoc activities as directed by the Regional Marketing Manager
    • Provide incremental administrative support to the regional management team as needed including maintaining schedules, calendars and meeting coordination

     

    Credentials

    • Successful completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business, Project Management, English, Journalism or related discipline
    • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a marketing capacity and a demonstrated understanding of the marketing process and project coordination is preferred
    • Experience in a professional business environment is preferred
    • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
    • Strong computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • A valid driver’s license is necessary as travel will be required
