    Join the momentum. We are seeking a Senior Consultant for our growing Enterprise Risk Services team. Protecting businesses’ best interests, MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Our recognized Enterprise Risk team helps identify, evaluate and manage risk exposure to protect a company’s reputation and assets. Specifically, our Enterprise Risk Management team helps organizations reduce uncertainty and seize new opportunities to increase stakeholder value.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Performance Expectations

    • Participate in the delivery of Enterprise Risk Services such as risks assessments, internal audits, internal control assessments, compliance programs, developing risk management policies and frameworks and assisting with risk mitigation strategies
    • Assist in assessing business processes and internal control frameworks across a range of industries; identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes and controls through the development of enterprise risk/operational risk management programs
    • Assist in delivering industry and technical expertise in internal audit and risk management through client interactions, research and analysis, reports, technical work, management presentations, and proposals
    • Conduct Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) scoping and materiality calculations
    • Participate in walkthroughs and control testing in support of ICFR/SOX engagements and recommend/ implement process improvements related to current processes and design of controls
    • Participate in the development and delivery of SOX audit training materials for clients and team
    • Obtain, analyze and evaluate audit documentation, previous reports, data and flowcharts
    • Document detailed process and control narratives, and prepare findings memorandum
    • Assist in conducting follow up audits to monitor management’s interventions
    • Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards of various sectors
    • Execute projects and build client value through the provision of client services including planning, budgeting, scheduling and coordinating engagements
    • Facilitate collaboration with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas, materiality and deadlines
    • Identify ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added value
    • Maintain high quality control by reviewing work done from other team members for accuracy and completeness; provide feedback to team members
    • Monitor project timelines against targets, adjust where necessary; advise clients of project status
    • Network and take a leadership role in the local professional, business, and community while raising awareness of MNP and looking for new business development opportunities.
    • Work with ERS leader to develop relationship, marketing, presentations skills and create/enhance professional networks.
    • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
    • Promote regular attendance, balanced lifestyle and high standard of team wellness
    • Attend internal MNP courses to further develop knowledge around performance improvement

    Credentials

    • Possess Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, finance, or another related field
    • Completion of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation (or is in the process of obtaining one or both designations)
    • Two (2) to three (3) years experience in external or internal audit at a professional services firm
    • Proven knowledge of internal controls (COSO)
    • Exposure to Risk Management Frameworks such as COSO Integrated Enterprise Risk Management Framework and/or ISO 31000 is preferred
    • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint and Visio
    • Eagerness to learn, participate in business development, enhance networks and contribute to strategic initiatives
    • Some travel may be required
