    Join the momentum. We are seeking a Legal Counsel for our growing Legal team for a one-year term. MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Providing insight and guidance, our Legal team serves as in-house counsel and supports the firm’s legal, human resource and regulatory responsibilities. With a focus on minimizing legal and reputational risk, we foster a culture where MNP team members consider, analyze and understand the risks associated with our business and continuously strive to minimize those risks.



    Performance Expectations

    • Work closely with business units to provide legal counsel and support
    • Conduct legal research and provide advice to various department heads and executives in a wide variety of legal matters
    • Work in a fast-paced environment in collaboration with business units, General Counsel and other lawyers within the team
    • Draft concise emails and legal documents
    • Identify legal issues, research and analyze complicated situations quickly and develop practical solutions in an efficient and timely manner
    • Develop good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders and work effectively with outside counsel
    • Write briefs on regulations, legal/compliance matters and other ad hoc legal issues to support the firm’s legal position and provide guidance to teams
    • Help develop legal policies
    • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industry
    • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes


    • Minimum of two (2) years post-call legal experience
    • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively and be a persuasive advocate
    • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • Experience in general corporate law with knowledge of employment law, privacy law and/or IP law is an asset
    • Experience with contractual law and litigation considered an asset
    • Proficiency in French is considered an asset
