    Join the momentum. We are seeking a Senior Java Developer for our growing Technology Consulting team. Driving business excellence, MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Our Consulting team works with organizations in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors to provide innovative strategies tailored to maximize efficiencies, enhance performance and increase profitability. Specifically, our recognized Technology Consulting team works with clients to translate technology issues and opportunities into meaningful results that meet organizational needs.



    Genderal Responsibilities

    • Designing and developing scalable solution architectures centered on web content platforms, and delivering accessible and responsive web products
    • Implementing and enhancing development standards, defining SDLC process, and improving code quality control
    • Implementing software solution code for web products, which may include web content management (WCM), portals, web applications, REST endpoints, and analytics tools
    • Designing and implementing component libraries, content governance models, and auditing capabilities tailored to business requirements
    • Investigating additional software products and APIs, and designing architectures for systems integrations
    • Creating, maintaining, and updating system architecture design diagrams and supporting documentation
    • Proactively analyzing and evaluating alternative technology solutions to meet business problems
    • Identifying technical task breakdown and design to accomplish business requirements for different software releases, using the Agile methodology
    • Support business, functional, and non-functional requirements discussions to provide technical perspectives on solution design
    • Identifying policies, risk and constraints on proposed solutions
    • Providing technical mentorship for a small team of developers, fostering team skills development and knowledge sharing
    • Providing occasional third-level technical support, troubleshooting and developer training for delivered solutions

    Performance Expectations

    • Provide quality technical consulting services on a variety of client engagements while keeping within the project scope and ensuring client deliverables are on time
    • Support user requirements definition and create detailed technical design documents
    • Develop quality code in technologies such as, but not limited to, Java, XSL, SQL, JavaScript and CSS
    • Assist in estimating effort to complete project tasks and implement software products
    • Champion code quality standards and lead code reviews
    • Mentor and foster growth of junior team members
    • Assist with the monitoring of delivery progress and reporting status via the use of Agile project management tools, and addressing issues with implementation delivery
    • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s related services, businesses and industry
    • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
    • Actively provide constructive feedback to team members for continuous improvement
    • Regularly participate in learning activities to further develop technology consulting skills


    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related education and/or experience
    • Six (6) to ten (10) years of combined experience developing with the following technologies: Java, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
    • Experience developing for websites and/or web services, including responsive design and WCAG
    • Solid understanding of all phases of the software development lifecycle
    • Experience with enterprise web content management platforms, preferably Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar 
    • Experience producing solution designs, technical documentation, and technical knowledge transfer / guides
    • Experience in using and administering source control tools such as SVN, Git, or TFS
    • Experience with Windows Server and Unix or Linux operating systems
    • Experience with web servers and web application servers such as JBoss, Tomcat, IIS, and Apache Web Server
    • Experience mentoring and guiding a small team of developers (2-3 people)
    • Experience with common Java frameworks such as Spring is an asset
    • Experience in .NET and related tools is an asset
    • Experience in projects using Agile or Scrum approaches is an asset
    • Experience writing unit tests and using automated test tools are considered an asset
    • Eligible to obtain security clearance and a background check
    • Willingness and ability to travel as required
