    Join the momentum. We are seeking a Software Quality Assurance Specialist - Automation for our growing Technology Consulting team. Driving business excellence, MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Our Consulting team works with organizations in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors to provide innovative strategies tailored to maximize efficiencies, enhance performance and increase profitability. Specifically, our recognized Technology Consulting team works with clients to translate technology issues and opportunities into meaningful results that meet organizational needs. Our specialists develop, enable and support initiatives that allow MNP to deliver client service, collaborate, communicate and operate reliably and efficiently.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Performance Expectations

    • Lead the transition from established manual practices to automated quality assurance testing practices
    • Perform software coding to develop complex automated tests
    • Set up testing scenarios that include packaged applications, custom built applications and data integrations
    • Complete research to identify and define requirements for the use of technology
    • Improve technology processes and systems that positively impact the business
    • Create viable specifications and acceptance criteria in preparation for the construction of information and communication systems
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and partners across the organization
    • Liaise between the business and Technology departments to provide business and system analysis service
    • Create and maintain formal and informal project management plans, schedules and timelines; coordinate resources and proactively communicate when needed
    • Identify, prioritize, analyze, document and implement business requirements with the ability to present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
    • Review and prepare documents and reports including documenting a testing strategy and test plans
    • Develop test cases from defined requirements, acceptance criteria and system specifications
    • Record clear and concise defects using bug tracking software
    • Participate in defining end-to-end integration test cases
    • Develop a regression test strategy using both automated and manual tests
    • Develop and execute performance tests
    • Manage the testing process while accounting for test dependencies and client constraints
    • Coordinate, facilitate and manage user acceptance testing
    • Coordinate and facilitate defect tracking and management
    • Report on test progress internally and externally
    • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industry
    • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
    • Attend internal MNP courses to further develop your technology consulting - quality assurance knowledge

    Credentials

    • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Technology or related field; relevant experience will also be considered
    • Two (2) to five (5) years of related work experience that demonstrate the following:
      • Experience with coordinating or managing the solution testing process including UAT
      • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization
      • Demonstrated ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times
      • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
      • Programming literacy in an object-oriented languages and databases
      • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
      • Experience in creating clear, concise and informative defect tickets; follow-through of the defect lifecycle to resolution
      • Experience in the defect management lifecycle, creating, managing, reporting and tracking of defects and their tickets from creation to resolution
      • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Rational, SmartBear, Micro Focus and Tricentis
