    Join the momentum. We are seeking an Assistant Estate Manager for our growing Consumer Insolvency team. Committed to helping all stakeholders through financial challenges, MNP Limited is one of the largest insolvency practices in Canada. For more than 50 years, our experienced team of Government-Licensed Insolvency Trustees and advisors have been working collaboratively with lenders and debtors at all levels to help protect their interests.



    Performance Expectations

    • Assist in the delivery of our consumer insolvency services and in planning the course of action to manage and resolve consumer debt
    • Meet with individuals and proprietors who are in financial difficulty to assess their situation, and assist them in understanding the options available to them to resolve their debt
    • Meet with individual Debtors to complete first and second stage counselling sessions
    • Preparation and processing of receipts and disbursements
    • Administer formal consumer insolvency appointments including bankruptcies, consumer and Division I proposals
    • Oversee preparation and revision of documents and required filings
    • Review and verify accuracy of information received from Debtors and creditors
    • Other duties dependent on experience, but can include entering of proofs of claim, monthly reporting from Bankrupts, receipts & disbursements), surplus income requirements
    • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
    • Assist in developing and coaching other team members as required
    • Attend internal MNP and external courses as required to further develop knowledge and skills


    • Previous experience working in professional services, namely in the area of consumer insolvency or credit and debt counselling
    • Completion of the Insolvency Administrator's Course is preferred
    • Completion of the Insolvency Counsellor’s Qualification Course is preferred, but not required
    • Previous experience with Ascend insolvency software is considered an asset
    • Understanding of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA), equivalent work experience in the legal or financial industries, or post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
    • Prior experience working in, or volunteering with, a social agency is an asset
    • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word and Excel (PowerPoint is an asset)
    • Please note this position is based at our MNP Insolvency office in NE Calgary, but travel to other regional offices may be required
