    Join the momentum. We are seeking a Senior Manager or Manager for our IT & Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED) team. We have openings in our Vancouver, Surrey, Calgary, & Edmonton offices. Providing the highest level of excellence, MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Our Tax team works with individuals and organizations in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors providing comprehensive strategies that minimize risk, meet tax compliance and reporting requirements, drive efficiencies and maximize returns. Specifically, our SR&ED team consists of industry-leading professionals who have the knowledge and experience to help businesses take full advantage of funding opportunities and the multitude of available provincial incentives.



    Performance Expectations

    • Interface with Chief Technology Officers (CTOs) and software developers at companies doing leading edge software development
    • Assist clients to identify, prepare and claim development tasks / activities under the SR&ED Tax Credit program
    • Identify industry advances within the IT / Software / Computer field and other areas of technical innovation
    • Write reports to provide an overview of client software development projects
    • Manage multiple projects; deliver projects on time and on budget
    • Interact with Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Southwest Ontario (SWO) peers, clients, Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) representatives and the funding and investment community as a professional in your field
    • Advocate for IT / software / computer industry and business rights that protect the taxpayer in claiming SR&ED benefits; build arguments and cases to defend those rights
    • Network and market MNP SR&ED services to existing and prospective clients


    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or related discipline
    • Minimum of 3 years of Industry experience in software development / technology
    • Experience working with technology as a Technology Developer, Senior Analyst or Consultant in product and tools development, implementation and integration, internal application development, product management of Software Development Kits (SDKs), infrastructure platforms (i.e. Enterprise Application Integration (EAI)), frameworks and/or enterprise class applications.
    • Exposure to the most current development technologies and environments including: cloud storage and computing, mobile app development, game development, web application development, etc.
    • Broad development experience with current technologies such as PHP, MySQL, XML, Java, .NET, SQL Server, Oracle, Objective-C, Ruby, Python, Flash, Open source and Agile environments, etc.
    • Experience with sales and customer relationship management is an asset
    • SR&ED experience including writing and supporting IT based SR&ED claims is an asset
    • Knowledge of, or willingness to be mentored into, understanding how financial service organizations like MNP operate, market and access relationships for cross service sales and work with non-accounting professionals
    • Focus on achieving high quality, timely and profitable results
    • Strong work ethic and intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning
    • Experience in leading and mentoring a team is an asset
