    Join the momentum. We are currently seeking a Director for our growing Family Office Services team. Driving business excellence, MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm providing dedicated expertise to families and business owners throughout Canada. Our Family Office Services team of professionals informs, educates and navigates clients through key life events through strategic planning, wealth reporting and analysis and family governance.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Performance Expectations

    Client Relationship Management

    • Serve as the primary family office relationship manager for clients
    • Lead regularly scheduled meetings and strategic planning process
    • Identify short- and long-term options to enhance, protect and transition family wealth
    • Align planning and reporting over multiple disciplines and priorities (i.e., tax, legal, wealth, estate, succession, stewardship)
    • Discuss options available through various asset ownership structures; devise strategies and other techniques for realizing and preserving asset value after taxes
    • Guide families through the process of identifying family governance goals and developing and implementing plans and policies
    • Coordinate the Investment Process by delivering consolidated reporting of family wealth over all investment portfolios; review overall asset allocation and investment policy/objectives for consistency and alignment to family goals and needs
    • Communicate with internal and external professionals to ensure coordinated advice and implementation
    • Accountable for client service excellence by ensuring that clients’ needs and requests are responded to in a timely, accurate and professional manner in a deadline-driven environment
    • Monitor project timelines against targets and adjust where necessary; advise clients of project status and seek clarification on discrepancies, where applicable

    Business Development

    • Network with investment industry specialists for business development opportunities and to facilitate the referral to the appropriate partners
    • Monitor market developments and stay abreast of trends to propose adjustments to service offering, technology, competitors etc., as required
    • Utilize networking skills to identify and attract high net worth clients and develop focused strategies to create and expand relationships
    • Manage project financials appropriately (i.e., budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)
    • Identify ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver additional added value
    • Promote MNP Family Office Services through the delivery of presentations, writing articles, facilitating workshops and/or participating in community activities
    • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s service lines and client groups
    • Network in the local business community and consider business development opportunities
    • Assist in the mentorship, motivation and coaching of team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and addressing performance issues promptly

    Credentials

    • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in Business, preferably with a specialization in Accounting or Finance; completion of a master’s degree in a related field is considered an asset
    • Completion of a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation; completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is considered an asset
    • Minimum ten (10) years of industry experience working with complex high net worth families
    • Strong knowledge of the wealth/investment management industry and related regulatory and compliance requirements
    • An aptitude for math combined with a strong knowledge of trust, estate planning, tax planning, insurance and complex planning
    • Previous experience working with financial planning software
    • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Regular travel within Ontario (primarily within the GTA) and occasionally within Canada is required
